Frequently Asked Questions:
(here are a few answers)
Who is Sonja K. Ayres?
Sonja is an Oklahoma resident who has developed her unique style over many years. Her love of Nature, Portraiture and Native American style art and pottery is quickly apparent when you view first hand the captivating images she creates. She is a full time artist and her award winning art can be seen in person at many shows throughout the year.
Where does she get her clay?
Sonja quarries the clay herself from the surrounding area. Different sites yield types of clay that are sometimes mixed in different proportions depending on the end result she wants.
What does "stone rubbed finish" mean?
A traditional finish that gives a much different appearance than European style pottery.
What's a "Ceramic Tile Mural"?
Sonja takes one of her images and applies it to a ceramic tile (a 6 x 6, or three 4 x 4 tiles) which can be then displayed as you would any fine art creation; either on an easel, or mounted on a board for a wall display. A very unique display method that catches your eye.
Can I get her to sign "open stock prints"?
Yes, Sonja is happy to provide signed work even when they are not the "Signed and Numbered" limited run prints.
You can contact Sonja directly by email or mail. Full contact details may be found in all her catalogues (free to download).
